Urea is used as an additive in dye baths to increase the intensity of colour and to give a more even, less textured, aesthetic. It is also used as an additive when making print paste and thickened Procion MX Dyes to increase the intensity of colour.

As a guide, I use 400ml Urea per 4 litres print paste.
