Procion MX Dye 50g
Procion MX dyes work with cotton, linen, hemp, viscose and other plant based, cellulosic fabrics. They work with silk fabrics. They also work with some wools but the results can be unpredictable. Supplied as powders they can be used in so many different applications: in dye baths, as liquid dyes and as thickened dyes. They give strong, vibrant colours with excellent wash fastness.
However you use your dyes you will also need to use Soda Ash as this is the fixative for Procion MX dyes.
There are many different recipes for dyeing. As a guide I use 4 level teaspoons of dye for each square metre of medium weight fabric when I want dark, saturated colour. For a medium strength colour I use 1 level teaspoon and for lightly coloured fabric I use 1/4 teaspoon.
