Simply Screen Printing - 2 Day

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April 2024 or Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2024

This two-day introduction to screen printing includes:

·         Making and mixing thickened Procion dyes – a brief introduction to colour

·         Using an open screen in combination with masks on fabric and loose paper, plastic and string resists

·         Using masking tape and sticky back plastic as resists on a screens

·         An introduction to breakdown printing - using thickened dyes as a resist on a screen

With a maximum of 6 students you’ll get lots of one to one support, group demonstrations and detailed class notes. The class will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day with the studio opening at 9am. You'll print at least 5 pieces of cloth and gain an understanding of how to start screen printing in your own home.

The workshop cost is £180 payable on booking.

The cost includes hot and cold drinks and lots of biscuits! You will need to provide your own lunch but there is a fridge and microwave in the studio. Most of the materials (except fabric), media and equipment needed for the workshops will be provided. You will be given requirement list but I aim to keep these as short as possible. The studio will be stocked with a selection of the fabrics, Procion dyes, auxiliary chemicals, screen printing screens and more for you to buy so that you can continue your studies at home.

Cancellation policy: This workshop will only run if 4 or more people enrol. If there is a shortfall you will receive a full refund. And you will, of course, receive a full refund if I cancel the course. However please be aware that if you cancel you will only receive a refund if your place can be filled.
